Our 2016 racing season kicks off this coming Saturday, May 21 with Pre-Season series races at 2:30pm. The 2016 WBYC Sailing Instructions are posted here on the web site (there are no changes but you should re-read them and be familiar with them).
A couple of notes for 2016:
Please pay attention to a change in our starting sequence – When racing on the same day, E scows will start BEFORE the Catamarans in 2016.
We have some new course marks that are green – like the alternate mark we have used in the past. The green color is more visible against the horizon and should make it easier to see the course.
Make sure your registration is paid seven days in advance of any races you want to be scored in.

Judges also conduct arbitration hearings, enforce Rule 42 (Propulsion) on the water at fleet racing events and consult with organizers and race officers ahead of events to review race documents and procedures. Judges improve the quality, consistency, and fairness of racing through proper administration of the Racing Rules of Sailing. What is the Club Judge Seminar? The US Sailing Club Judge Seminar is a one-day educational course intended to provide sailors and racers an opportunity to obtain practical knowledge and skills required to serve on a Protest Committee at their local sailing club or local regatta venue. The Club Judge Seminar is NOT intended to serve as a rules seminar or symposium. Rather, a person would attend the seminar with a goal to:

The WBYC Sailing Committee met tonight and approved the 2013 Sailing Instructions. There are a couple minor wording changes, but most changes were to bring the document in line with the new 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing. Thanks to Mark Dunsworth for his review of the new rules and edits to the document and to Race Officer Bob Zak for his final review. The document is available on the main website.
